Alexander’s Hollywood career has really taken off. On August 17 filming of the new movie Straw Dogs will start.

“Straw Dogs” is the remake of Sam Pekinpah’s controversial classic with the same name – but the new movie will be different from the original.

“That movie was so good that there isn’t any real point in making a clean-cut re-make”, says Alexander Skarsgard to TT-Spektra.

Alexander will play the ex-boyfriend of Kate Bosworth’s character, but the part has been re-written. It has become more of a triangle-drama now, and the relationship between the ex-boyfriend and girlfriend has a more established history.

“Over all it’s been tightened up and even the siege at the end is pretty different now”, Alexander says.

After Comic-con in San Diego he will spend two weeks in Mississippi taking speech lessons with a voice coach.

“I am supposed to be from Mississippi, so I have to learn how to speak like they do. It sounds like a Texas-dialect, but not as hard.”

“There hasn’t been any official word on that yet, but there’ll be at least one more ’round’/season. Alan Ball, who created the show, wants to keep going, and because ratings are very good it’s probably going to be that way.”
